From Thursday 10th May until Sunday 20th May the  parishes in our team are taking part in ‘Thy Kingdom Come’.  This is a special time of year as we remember Jesus ascending into heaven after appearing to his disciples following his resurrection.  We then wait to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost which we celebrate this year on Sunday 20th May.

Thy Kingdom Come is a period of encouraging people to pray using many different methods.  We are encouraging people to engage in a pilgrimage around the churches in our Team that are open during the day.  You can find out which churches these are by using the ‘Passport’ which you will find on each of the stations.

Once you have prayed at a station place one of the coloured stickers from that station on your passport.  Take the passport round with you and at the end reflect on which way of praying suited you best.

Think about other ways you can pray now you have experienced some new forms.  If you would like new ideas you can visit the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ website at https://www.thykingdomcome.global/

Message from Rosemary Saxey: Due to the recent adverse weather, the Women's World Day of Prayer services in Shaftesbury were cancelled, or those that went ahead were with small congregations, resulting in very little being given to support the WWDP charities. The service sheets will be available on Sunday 11th March so those who missed the service can have them and donate then if they wish. Thanks, Rosemary Saxey.

Kevin Martin was ordained at St Peter's Church last week, by Bishop Nicholas and joins us as curate.  Team Rector the Revd Helen Dawes has these words of thanks following the service: "An enormous THANK YOU to everyone who made Kevin's ordination such a joyous celebration! Thank you to the bishop's chaplain and office team for arranging the service and producing the service books, thank you to our musicians and choir, to the flower arrangers, bell ringers, church cleaners and to everyone who brought or served food at the party and to those who washed up afterwards. Thank you to Bishop Nick for leading us in glorious worship and to the Ven Vanessa Herrick for inspiring us with her words. Finally, thank you to everyone I'll realise I should have mentioned...Now we continue with the work of the Church, and for that, thanks be to God!"
