Open Garden 2017 Come and enjoy a morning in a beautiful garden while helping the Friends of North Dorset Women’s Refuge to keep up their support of families who have had to escape from Domestic Abuse. What’s domestic abuse you ask? Think of recent Archer’s stories and Broadchurch and you’ll know.

Come to Grove Farm House, Melbury Abbas SP7 0DE on Wednesday 28th June from 10.30 till 12.00 and enjoy a wander, meeting others, perhaps winning the raffle. Our coffee is excellent as are our home made cakes so please come and enjoy the morning. Sorry, we can’t cope with dogs – lack of shade in the car parking area.

St Thomas' Melbury Abbas celebrated Rogation Sunday in the beautiful barn at Manor Farm just along from the church - we carried bits of the church to the barn and a roaring wood burner was there to greet us. In our Service we recognised God’s goodness towards us and asked God to protect our crops and our farms and livestock; with the sound of sheep outside and the view of Melbury Beacon through the window it was not difficult. We prayed for the wider stewardship of our world, and as today was also the launch of our Stewardship campaign, and we engaged with the theological ideas behind giving. We then continued to celebrate communion.
Thanks to the Kay family for the use of their barn and to all who helped it was a great time together with God.
