Gill Waine
Motcombe Churchwarden

My brother and I were born in Carlshalton, Surrey and moved to the Bristol area soon after. We remained there until senior school age, when my father's job moved from Filton Airport to Heathrow  and we went to live in Stanwell, Middlesex. There I attended St Mary's church where I was confirmed and later married to Nick in 1967. Nick and I then moved to Ashford, Middlesex where our two children were born and we lived for the next thirty years.

During this time I was an active member of St Matthew's church, a member of Mothers' Union, Young Wives' Leader and a school governor. We retired to Motcombe fourteen years ago. Since then, our children have married, we have four grand-children and another is expected in June. We enjoy being part of such an active and friendly village, belonging to various organisations and attending events. I have worshipped at St Mary's since moving to Motcombe and became an LPA  in 2004.
