Churches Together in Shaftesbury and Gillingham are hosting a hustings for the North Dorset constituency at 7pm on Saturday 3rd June at St James’s Church, Shaftesbury to give local people a chance to put their questions to our General Election candidates. All four candidates will be attending. The hustings will give members of the community in Gillingham, Shaftesbury and the surrounding villages an opportunity to engage in good quality discussion with the candidates about the issues that matter to them most in this General Election.
The hustings is being organised by our two local Churches Together groups - the organisations that link up the different churches in Gillingham and Shaftesbury. But the hustings is for the whole community, not just for church members, and we're looking forward to welcoming a wide range of people so that we can have a really good conversation through the evening.
Members of the local community can submit questions in advance through their local churches, by e-mail, or on Facebook. You might want to find out the candidates' perspectives on national or international issues that you care about, or there might be a pressing local issue that you want to know their position on. Let us know what's on your mind and we will aim to cover as many of the most pressing issues as we can in the course of the evening.
Send in your questions no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 31st May:
- By e-mail to hustings@ShaftesburyCofE.org.uk
- On facebook at facebook.com/ShaftesburyCofE
- On paper via your local church in Gillingham, Shaftesbury and the surrounding villages (questions on paper need to be with your church by Sunday 28th May)
