St James’ Church, Shaftesbury
After surviving a hard winter, Pilgrim has resumed his journey as the countryside, too, is waking into spring. His path leads him through a stretch of forest and, as he rounds a corner he comes across the strangest of sights – a full-grown grizzly bear standing with his back to the trunk of a tree and using it as a scratching post to his evident relief and delight as he rubs away the layers of winter fur which, while protecting in the winter, have now become insufferably hot.
Maybe we, too, after a life-changing experience, realise that our comfort zone has become increasingly insulated from the world and that we need to shed our outer layers and excess baggage and travel comfortably carrying with us only the ‘bare necessities of life’!
Come and put down your loads and find out how much easier life can become; Remember God loves all bears – even if some of them are grizzlies!
Join us for refreshments and fellowship afterwards.
