St Peter’s Shaftesbury – About us

Welcome to St Peter's! Whether you want to join a church, need banns calling for your wedding, are wondering if there's more to life, or are just dropping in for a moment's quiet during the week, you are welcome.

Our main service each week is at 9:30am on Sundays. If you come along you'll find a church that's much lighter and airier than you'd guess from outside. Most Sundays you'll find a congregation of about 100 people of all ages at our service. There are nearly always two or three people who are new or visiting, so you won't be the only one. Take a peek through the window on the High Street first if you're not sure - but come on in, we really will be glad you've come! You can find more details in the Worship tab here.

St Peter's is linked with Shaftesbury Primary School.  Teams from the church present Open The Book in their assemblies and run an afterschool club called the LIghthouse. Some members of the church sit on the governing board of the school.

In addition, for the last two summers we have run Dreamscheme, three days of working with young people on the Mampitts Estate, empowering them to find ways of serving their local community.

We run a monthly Men's Breakfast on the second Saturday of the month.  Have a look at the calendar for more details.

There is more information what we do on our A Church Near You website and also on our facebook page.

If you've got a question we haven't answered here, feel free to come along on a Sunday and ask, or to contact us directly. For enquiries about weddings and baptisms please contact our team administrator on 01747 853060 or by e-mail to office@shaftesburycofe.org.uk
